Meet Our Teachers
Michelle Wyke-Thomas
Native English-speaking teacher/Principal
Some key points in my philosophy of education:
The process must:
- Teach a person how to think, reason and solve problems
- Positively influence one’s character
- Be fostered in a climate that is student-centred
- Appeal to the learner’s style
- Encourage the teacher to be reflective
I began my teaching career at Happy Vale Montessori. I then taught at Study Hall working with children with learning difficulties.
My latest position was with Maple Leaf International School, where I have taught in varying classes from JK to Grade 8.
I work with students one-on- one and in small groups offering academic assistance by way of remedial support.
I have taught young adults at Sunday school for many years helping to develop moral excellence and shape sturdy characters.
I count myself blessed to be able to make a career from my passion; to engage a mind, touch a heart, change the world and affect eternity.

Adriana Tosta
Native Spanish-speaking teacher
My name is Adriana Tosta and teaching has always been my passion from a young age. Shortly after graduating with honours, Cum Laude, from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), I began my teaching career
During my time as an educator, I have taught Spanish to a wide array of students, ranging from preschoolers to adults at various institutions, including Arbor and Rosewood Schools, Papa Bear Preschool, and Trintica International. However, the one thing that has remained a constant in my career is the love for teaching Spanish to children.
I personally find great satisfaction in playing a role in the success of my students and it brings joy to my heart when I listen to children speak Spanish as their first foreign language.
My teaching philosophy is centred on five fundamental pillars:
1. All students can learn with the right motivation
2. Safe and positive environments support learning
3. Parents and teachers are cooperative educators in a child’s learning journey
4. Learning a second language positively impacts the impressions of other cultures
